Meet Your Therapist- Tamara Zenner (she/her)

Finding the right therapist for YOU is an important part of therapy. 

Tamara Zenner is licensed in both Nevada and Texas as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. She has been providing confidential counseling services to individuals, couples, and families with a range of presenting needs since 2012. She has had experience with clients seeking therapeutic services for a wide range of presenting concerns in both private practice, schools, and agency settings.

Tamara received her Bachelor's (B.A.) degree in Psychology from the University of Kentucky in 2011 with a minor in Family Studies. During her time at the University of Kentucky she conducted research in a variety of areas including but not limited to self-regulation in regard to eating disorders, self-regulation surrounding religious beliefs, aggression in relation to watching rejection-based reality television, and views on posthumous reproduction. Tamara was also certified as a QPR Gatekeeper (suicide prevention program) while at the University of Kentucky in 2010. While attending the University of Kentucky, she also volunteered with Eastern State Hospital where patients suffering severe mental illness received inpatient treatment.

Upon graduating from the University of Kentucky, Tamara was accepted into the Couple and Family Therapy Master's program at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas where she graduated with her M.S. degree in 2013. She has worked closely with a number of AAMFT approved supervisors in clinical settings to better assist her clients in therapy sessions.

Tamara has worked in her private practice since January 2014 and now provides teletherapy services for both Nevada and Texas clients. She has taught at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas since 2013 teaching both undergraduate and graduate level courses. She also has worked with Las Vegas based charter schools with K-12 grade students.

Tamara is a clinician who doesn't just talk the talk, she walks the walk. When it comes to self-exploration, self-growth, and self-care she believes in modeling this behavior for her clients. In her spare time she works on her meditation and reiki practices. She also enjoys traveling, painting, journaling, going to Orange Theory Fitness, scuba diving, watching movies, listening to music of all genres, reading, off roading in her Jeep, and really anything else that can be done outdoors! Having quality time with loved ones is one of the most re-energizing pass times in her life!
